We’re revisiting Golden Sun for a second time this year, and from the second game as well! Here’s the final boss theme from Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Doom Dragon!

I’ve had my eye on this song for a while, so I threw it into a recent GaMetal Discord Request Battle against a different song and it got an easy victory.

The time signature changes in this song are NUTS. I took a snapshot of all the changes in one full run-through of the original:

And this might not even be 100% accurate! Haha. The point is, this is an extremely technical song that can be very difficult to play if you don’t know it by heart. I kept the remix itself quite ‘simple’, opting for playing through the song a couple of times, changing up some things and adding a solo the second time through. There’s really so many different sections to this song, I didn’t see the need to add even more.

Golden Sun songs great! It’s always interesting to cover pretty much anything composed by Motoi Sakuraba. We’ll definitely get to some other Golden Sun stuff in the future.
