A few weeks ago, I made a discussion post on Patreon asking everybody what their top 3 favorite video game soundtracks would be.

A lot of different games were brought up, all of which do indeed have impecable soundtracks. One game I noticed kept popping up was Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong-Quest. Not only did it appear multiple times, but it also appeared as people’s number 1 spot on a few occasions.

It kind of made me feel a little guilty for inadvertently skipping over the DK franchise last year, so I looked over the request list and youtube requests, and determined the next song would be Crocodile Cacophony from DKC2. It was suggested to me by patron Lebon that Lost World would be a good addition as well, since the 2 seem to fit well together.

This song always had sort of an eerie sounding feel to me, so I tried to keep that going here. There’s also a lot of tom action on the drums throughout the song as well.

I’ll probably squeeze in another DK song or two this year, especially since we didn’t have any last year, so stay tuned!
