Don’t Be Afraid was formerly my most popular Final Fantasy cover. Looking back, I think it still is. It’s not a commonly remixed song, which doesn’t happen often with FF songs, but it’s known enough to the Final Fantasy fan community to be familiar.
I did this as a fun song to experiment with recording in 5/4 timing. I’ve also always been a fan of this battle theme because of how unique it is as a Final Fantasy battle song.
This remix got a facelift in 2013 as my honorary new-sound test song. Since it was my most popular FF tune, it earned a spot in the Blast from the Past medley as song #6.
