I haven’t been playing Splatoon lately but I’m still a big fan and have been wanting to do the Squid Sister’s theme as my next Splatoon song. With word that Splatoon’s final Splatfest was upon us, and with a Callie vs Marie theme, there would’ve been no better time than now to get it done.

I originally intended to just do this on guitar, but I had seen a few people asking if there were going to be vocals, so on a whim I got some vocals done and tried it out and ended up liking the end result. The lyrics weren’t meant to be an ‘interpretation’ of what it sounds like Callie and Marie are singing in English, but rather something that makes more sense that sounds similar

It may come off as a weird remix especially if you don’t play Splatoon, but I think the addition of the vocal track really sets this one apart from others. It’s also had the best start in view count amongst my videos on Youtube since Megalovania, which is really saying a lot.

And even though I was thoroughly thrashed in the Splatfest from being extremely rusty, Team Marie still come out victorious! I feel like this song had something to do with it. 😉

Lyrics:

You! Ready for this?
Get on the floor and dance with me
You need to cut it on
Move to the beat
and feel the synchronizing
When I move
and you move
and we feel the melody you need to ink!

Give it your all
Get up get up
To my melody
and I’ll get down with you
Rock to the beat
and follow me the step is the key
You and me forever
Hey hey hey!

You, ready, for this?
Get on the floor and dance, with me
You need to cut it on
Move to the beat
and feel the synchronizing
When I move
and you move
and we feel the melody you need to

Run, with me, we’ll fly
into the sky and now, you know
you need to cut it on
Come ride with me
we’ll leap above the heavens
and I’ll move, and you’ll move
and we’ll feel the melody you better ink!
